NextDecade’s Paul Bruner, VP of Operations for Rio Grande LNG, was the guest speaker during the February meeting of the API RGV Chapter last week.
NextDecade has been a member company of API (American Petroleum Institute) since 2018.
The API RGV Chapter, which is comprised of business leaders, local service providers, and gas operations workers, was eager to learn about the Rio Grande LNG project and the potential for developing vendor relationships.
During the presentation, Paul provided background on the LNG supply chain and the role that LNG exports from the Rio Grande LNG project will play in lowering emissions in countries around the globe. This global view of LNG and the significant role that the Valley will play in delivering cleaner energy, along with our initiative to use renewable energy for our project’s electricity needs, was something that the group was extremely enthusiastic to learn about.

RGV API members also believe in investing in local students. For members, making college accessible for as many students as possible not only raises their employment prospects, but the prospects of the region as a whole.
When asked about the presentation, Paul said: “This presentation was a great way for us to tell our story and the benefits that our project will bring to the Valley throughout construction and into permanent operations.” He continued: “I want to thank API for inviting me to speak and look forward to continued engagement with communities and groups throughout the Rio Grande Valley.”
